hey everyone, i don't know if this community is still... going. but i liked the idea of it and joined anyways!
my name is Ashley and i'm 19. I'm 5'8 and weigh about 125 pounds. I have suffered with an eating disorder for years, but now i would like to concider myself recovered and just trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I enjoy working out, and go to the gym pretty much every other day (sometimes everyday if i'm not busy) and i try to eat as healthy as possible. Being in shape and feeling OK about food is the most AMAZING feeling. i love knowing i'm bettering myself just by taking care.

I've found that I can still go out with friends and enjoy food, but just by substituting a salad with light dressing for french fries or whichever side you enjoy.. before your meal, it fills you up (healthy!) AND you end up eating less of the meal you ordered (which usually isn't too good for you). if you don't like salad, fruit works too. I always make sure they bring it to before my meal though, because if the other stuff (like a burger or sandwich) is in front of me i'm going to want to eat all of that!!!

ok, i know that was long! i'm sorry!

I rented out Super Size Me tonight from the video shop.

Urgh. I'm never eating McDonalds or any other such fast food again, ever.

If friends drag me to McDonalds in the future, all I'm buying is an apple and a bottle of water. That's it.

Put garbage in, get garbage out?

The reason I haven't posted much in here lately is that I haven't been exercising as much...
But I started it up again on Monday morning... I went for a walk a quick one at about 6 in the morning... And I want to do this at least 3 times a week...

Also I heard on the news last night that a guy from America has found a new way of losing weight... He's worked out that you can not exercise and eat whatever you want as long as you eat a full meal every 3 hours... By doing this the immune system is getting a gick start every three hours making it stronger and better and burning off fat... They had a few ladies that had done this eating thingy and they had both lost about 20 kilos each doing this simple thing...
So i'm trying it out as of today I will keep you all informed on my progress and see if it really works... Plus i'll be walking as well...

And in Mark-updating-news at the moment, I'm noticing an improvement in myself. I haven't been cringing so much at recent photos of myself, so, I guess that's a good thing. My face feels slimmer too, and I'm pretty sure my chest has shrunk slightly.

This junk food in moderation and regular exercise thing works hey! :D
And all I've really been doing is having less junk than normal (but still the odd chocolate and ice cream attacks), and doing some exercise each week. Nothing special really for the exercise too, just a bit of bike riding, walking, jogging, basketball and that's about it. I reckon if I increase the exercise level I should have better results soon. So yeah, I'm happy with my progress at the moment.

I just went for a bike ride.

I feel good. That must be the endorphins kicking in.

I also feel sore. The lactic acid. It burns! It burns!!

[music |Donnie Darko - Soundtrack]

I've been exercising for about a little over a month now and not much has happened mainly because I wasn't eating correctly... I ate too much chips and chocoloate basically...
So starting last week I stopped buying such things and I have decreased the amount of carbs i'm eating as well... I love my potatoes too much to cut them out completely...
I have also starting today exercising more than half an hour to now a full hour and intend on doing this everyday... I know i've been told to increase exercise each week till your doing it everyday but i'm so damn sick of how big I am that i'm now increasing it to daily straight away...
I haven't weighed myself as I'm too scared to know how big I am as I know i'm over 100kgs... I will know i'm losing weight because my jeans that are falling apart and my only thing to wear outside are very tight and the ones I used to wear dont fit me at the moment so I will know it all by fitting into my old jeans....
I'm going to keep eating chips and chocolate as I do love them but only every now and then, not weekly or as it was at one point daily...

I will keep you all posted as I loose this damn weight... proabably once every two weeks or so....

Here's to a new and better me :)

Some words to inspire you [Apr. 15th, 2005|10:48 pm]

Risin' up, back on the street
Did my time, took my chances
Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive

So many times, it happens too fast
You trade your passion for glory
Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive

It's the eye of the tiger, it's the thrill of the fight
Risin' up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night
And he's watchin' us all with the eye of the tiger

Face to face, out in the heat
Hangin' tough, stayin' hungry
They stack the odds, till we take to the street
For the kill with the skill to survive

It's the eye of the tiger, it's the thrill of the fight
Risin' up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night
And he's watchin' us all with the eye of the tiger

Risin' up, straight to the top
Had the guts, got the glory
Went the distance, now I'm not gonna stop
Just a man and his will to survive

It's the eye of the tiger, it's the thrill of the fight
Risin' up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night
And he's watchin' us all with the eye of the tiger

The eye of the tiger
The eye of the tiger
The eye of the tiger

Ho hum
I'm a wee bit tired today. Yesterday I did pump then combat which was really good until I stopped then was tres tired. Then I had my personal trainer at 7.30 this morning. Sheesh. Now have just woken up from my nap. Feel lots better now hurrah!
Am already a little behind if I want to get to my goal by June. I hoped to lose 1.5 last week but only lost .5. Humph. I guess as long as I try to keep close to what I need to lose each week now, which is about a kilo, then I'll still be close anyhoo. We shall see.

I was talking to my trainer this morning about what to put in my new program and even though it's my favourite, I told her to take the leg press out. It's just a machine that I can really challenge myself on by adding more weight and i'm up to 7okgs at the moment. And I tried on some jeans the other day and they were so clingy on the thighs. I don't want to not fit into clothes in the legs! Yick.

Have to go and cook a birthday cake for heather now, need to find a nice recipe!
